Published as a free-standing supplement to the July-August 2016 issue of the Mineralogical Record, this big book (nearly an inch thick) features highlights from the collections of 74 private individuals and nine museums in the American Northeast, including the Smithsonian Institution, the Yale Peabody Museum, the American Museum of Natural History, the Harvard Mineralogical Museum, the Sterling Hill Mining Museum, and others. Many hundreds of superb photos of great specimens are accompanied by information on how each collector got started and how they select their specimens. This is a remarkable and unique documentation that every collector will enjoy.
