Very scarce. This juvenile work is a rather formal Victorian treatment of the hobby of mineral collecting in the form of a conversation between two Ohio boys visiting their uncle in Denver, Colorado. It is an entertaining read, giving a practical education in mining, minerals, and gemstones, with the additional colored frontispiece showing uncut jewels and minerals. A variety of subjects pertinent to mineralogy are covered in the 20 chapters.
