(Born: 1778; Died: Hastings, Sussex, England, 16 November 1856) English mineral collector & dealer.

Heuland was the nephew of the mineral dealer Jacob Forster [see note under Romé de l'Isle], whose collection he inherited. Subsequently the collection was sold to Charles Hampden Turner, that was later incorporated into Henry Ludlam's, now in the Museum of Practical Geology, London. Heuland was elected to the Geological Society of London in 1813, becoming its foreign secretary from 1818 to 1828. The mineral "Heulandite" named for him by H.J. Brooke in 1822.

1. Auction Catalogs, 1808-1849.
Henry Heuland's influence on mineral collecting in 19th century England was enormous. His ability to bring to market a constant flow of fine mineral specimens from all parts of the world prompted every major English collector of the time to be a regular visitor to his shop. Probably beginning in 1808, Heuland held the first of a long series of mineral specimen auction sales that would extend to the end of his career. All but one of the London sales was held in the "Great Rooms" of the auction company in King Street, Covent Garden founded around 1759 by the bookseller Samuel Paterson. These auctions would leave as a legacy a run of very rare sale catalogs that described the specimens that were for sale. A listing of the known sales is given below.
