GLINKA, Sergei Fedorov.

(1855 – 1924)

(Born: 1855; Died: 2 November 1924) Russian mineralogist & crystallographer.

Glinka was a professor of mineralogy and crystallography at the University of St. Petersburg.

Rare. This is the author's introductory course in crystallography. The basics are covered including crystal systems and classifications, notation, symmetry laws, etc. It describes physical crystallography and includes hundreds of excellent crystal drawings to illustrate the text. Also included are sections on the twinning of crystals and the description and use of goniometers.
