Scarce. Co-authored with Henry Lecoq. The text of volume one begins with a description of the physical characters of minerals. Then chemical characters are considered followed by a discussion of the chemical composition of minerals. A review is given of the previous mineral classifications of Hausmann, Haüy, Beudant, Bronigart, and Berzelius. The descriptive mineralogy then commences and this is carried though most of volume two. A section describing the metals in relation to mineralogy and a table of the crystalline forms of artifical chemicals close out the work.

Scarce. Co-authored with Henry Lecoq. After a long introduction, the text of volume one begins with a description of the physical characters of minerals. Then chemical characters are considered, with a detailed examination of how chemistry may be successfully applied to mineralogy. Based upon the theories of Berzelius [q.v.], a general scheme for classifying minerals with a discussion of its underlying principles is then presented. Included is an overview of mineralogical nomenclature. The descriptive mineralogy then commences and completes the first volume. Volume two continues and concludes the descriptive mineralogy. Two long sections about geognosie and metallurgy complete the text. A subject index to both volumes finishes the book.
