DöLLINGER, Ignaz.

(1770 – 1841)

(Born: Bamberg, Germany, 24 May 1770; Died: Munich, Bavaria, Germany, 14 January 1841) German physician & mineralogist.

In 1794, Döllinger was appointed professor of physiology at the University of Bamberg. In 1803, he took a similar position at the University of Wurzburg, then he became a professor at the medical school in 1823. In 1826, he became professor of anatomy at the University of of Munich. He authored many works on religion and church history.
