Rare. Work of this eminent german geologist including the first geological map of Schlesien from the year 1797 with 10 different colours depicting the "Riesen-Gebirge" near Breslau now in Poland, but also dealing with the mineralogy and geology of the "Salzkammergut" near Berchtesgaden and Salzburger Land. The second volume begins as a mineralogical letter from Leopold von Buch to K.G.L. Karsten, and it deals with the Monte Albano and Puy de Dôme. The illustrations and maps of the Puy de Dôme near Clermont-Ferrand are especially of interest.

Very scarce. Von Buch traveled for two years 1806-1808, in Scandinavia and Lapland. This publish account of the travels added considerable information about these regions, especially in the areas of climatology, mineralogy and geology.

Brossura editoriale rosa pallido con titolo e piccolo mappamondo inciso entro bordure ornate alle brossure anteriori e, a quelle posteriori, xilografie con figure di velieri, sempre entro bordure ornate. Complessive 18 tavole incise su rame f.t. dal Dall'Acqua, molte delle quali in bella coloritura acquerellata coeva del Lazaretti, raffiguranti vedute, profili orografici, animali e costumi della Scandinavia. In barbe, in ottimo stato conservativo, con solo qualche rara fioritura. Tomi XXXV-XXXVIII della "Raccolta di viaggi dopo quelli di Cook eseguiti tanto per mare quanto per terra, e non pubblicati fin ora in lingua italiana", comprendenti la prima traduzione italiana, dovuta a Luigi Bossi e da lui stesso annotata, di questa significativa relazione di viaggio in Scandinavia del geologo tedesco Christian Leopold Von Buch, Reise durch Norwegen und Lappland (Berlin, bey G. C. Nauck, 1810). Il Buch (Stolpe, Pomerania, 1774-Berlino, 1853), stimato geologo tedesco, dopo aver visitato la Boemia, la Turingia, la Slesia, l'Italia e la Francia, nel biennio 1806-1808 condusse esplorazioni geologiche in Lapponia e in Scandinavia, traendone per il materiale per il presente volume.
