Zimmermann, Rudolf (1878-1943 )

Rudolf Zimmermann was born in 1878 in Germany, and became a mineralogist and dealer in natural history specimens for schools in the mining town of Chemnitz, Saxony. In 1904 he published a book specifically for mineral collectors: Die Mineralien. Eine Anleitung zum Sammeln und Bestimmen derselben nebst einer Beschreibung der wichtigsten Arten ("Minerals. A Guide to Collecting and Identification, together with a description of the most important species")--120 pages and eight color plates. Title page to his book states that he was an editor of the Monatsschrift für Mineralien-, Gesteins- und Petrefaktensammler ("Monthly Magazine for Minerals, Rocks, and Fossils") published in Stuttgart by Lehmann.
