Who we share your data with
We respect the privacy of our subscribers and purchasers and take it very seriously and do not intentionally share your personal data with any other third party.
How and how long we retain your data
Currently, we hold a separate database (not the website account database) of subscribers’ and purchasers’ names, addresses, phone numbers (if provided), email addresses (if provided), and a record of purchases, shipments and replacements (i.e. lost magazines, etc.). This data is only used internally to service our clients and is necessary for subscription renewals.
Data on subscribers is retained in the main database until the subscriber is deceased, the contact information is no longer valid (renewals and/or magazines are continuously returned, emails continuously bounce, phone numbers are disconnected) or by request from a subscriber. If a non-subscriber makes a purchase, they can be removed from our email database if they click on the “unsubscribe” link on any of our email newsletters.
The Mineralogical Record does not hold or retain any credit card information in their main database, nor is it retrieved from Authorize.net, or the website.
What rights you have over your data
If you have created an account for your personal use on our site, or are a subscriber or have purchased from us, you can request to receive the file of personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
Where we send your data
Purchase orders from our website are forwarded to our fulfillment center, used to ship your order, and then disposed of. These purchase orders contain your order number, name, address, phone number (needed for FedEx shipments) and email address. No payment information is displayed on these orders.
Your contact information
Names, addresses, phone numbers, and email address are for internal use only. We do not share without your contact information with third parties without your permission.
