(Born: Darmstadt, Germany, 4 August 1747; Died: Darmstadt, Germany, 14 July 1808) German geologist & palaeontologist.

Klipstein did early research on the stratigraphy of Hessen and Freyberg. He worked as a government assessor and lawyer advising on the values of properties. From 1767, he was secretary at the mining college in Giessen.

Rare. Edited by Klipstein, this is apparently a short lived mineralogical periodical that focused on issues and discoveres made in mining ventures. The British Library says that each volume is divided into four parts or Theilen. Apparently, publication ceased after the second volume was completed.
