HOPPING, Roy Degrasse.

(1872 – 1930?)

(Born: Union, New Jersey, U.S.A., 18 June 1872; Died:      ) American mineral dealer & collector.

For a few years, Hopping operated his own New York City mineral store on Dey street. He issued several small catalogs and bulletins. Eventually, he merged with William Niven to form the firm of Niven and Hopping of New York City during the 1890s. But after this short lived partnership, he is listed in the Naturalists' Directory of 1894 as a collector of minerals, crystals and butterflies. He appears to have died sometime after 1930.
