Very rare. This is an early directory of naturalists then living in Europe and America, listing their current addresses to facilitate correspondence. Included in the volume is information about geologists, mineralogists, botanists, zoologists, entomologists, anatomists, physicians, astronomers, physicists, chemists and pharmacists. The information was compiled through the cooperation and efforts of sixty-three naturalists. This is the second known directory listing the information about then living mineralogists. The first was Schenkenberg's Die lebenden Mineralogen (Stuttgart, 1842) [which see], and followed by the long lasting series of The Naturalists' Directory [which see].
