Jon Gladwell
(1953-    )

Jonathan David "Jon" Gladwell was born in Oregon on October 18, 1953, and graduated from The Dalles High School in The Dalles, Oregon.

He was a well-known mineral collector in the Pacific Northwest, subscribed to the Mineralogical Record from 1992 to 1996, and was a member of the Pacific Northwest Chapter of the Friends of Mineralogy in the 1990s. He wrote Mineral Collecting at Searles Lake [California] (1994), and Crystals and Minerals: A family field collecting guide for northwestern Oregon and southwestern Washington (1989) (volume 2, 1991; volume 3, 1994).

Jon lived at 3235 SE 56th Avenue in Portland, Oregon, then Beaverton, Oregon. Since 2019 he has been doing business as Myrddin Emrys Minerals in Aloha, Oregon. He earlier operated as Myrddin Emrys Limited; "Myrddin Emrys" was the Welsh version of the legendary Merlin the Magician's name, Merlinus Ambrosius.
