Marilyn Dodge
(1942-    )

Marilyn F. Dodge, a mineral collector and micromounter in Providence, Rhode Island, was born August 22, 1942. She worked for the IRS for part of her career, and also worked for a company that made fine display cases in East Providence. She began collecting minerals around 1975, and started her subscription to the Mineralogical Record in 1985. In 1986 she authored a 78-page illustrated book entitled This is New England 1986 (published by the Rhode Island Mineral Hunters); it is a compilation of numerous articles dedicated to The New England Room at Harvard University and to curator Carl Francis.

Marilyn is a member of the Micromounters of New England, and is respected by many as a very generous and knowledgable person. Her well-known mineral collection of thumbnails and miniatures numbered in the thousands, and was of very high quality. In 2005 she decided to sell her remaining thumbnails (via Rob Lavinsky) in order to devote her resources more fully to micromounting.
