Richard Zeumer
(ca. 1860-ca. 1925)

German mineral dealer ("Mineralienhandlung") located at Schloßstrasse 34 in Dresden. He is listed as a dealer in minerals and rocks in Herrmann's Steinbruchindustrie und Steinbruchgeologie (1899). He advertised in Entomoloische Zitschrift (1904) seeking to purchase "better, complete mineral collections."

Zeumer apparently also operated the largest game and toy store in Saxony. A 2001 Sotheby's auction included "A large quantity of Erzgebirgo painted wood toys, circa 1910, comprising figures, animals, buildings, trees, fencing, windmill, cars, trams, buses, papier-mache mountains, etc., some bearing paper labels from the Spielwarenhaus Richard Zeumer, Dresden – Schloss-strasse 22." In 1914 a review of sources for teaching materials prepared by the University of Illinois mentions "Various games, and dolls dressed to illustrate the costumes of European lands may be obtained from the Spielwaren- haus of Richard Zeumer, Dresden (Schlosterstrasse 22)." The company was still in business as of 1929.

Zeumer may have been a descendant of naturalists. An R. Zeumer of Dresden published "A Systematic List of the Butterflies in the Vienna Region" in 1776.
