Theodore Taylor

Theodore Taylor was born in Yarmouth, Barnstable County, Massachusetts on August 27, 1855, the son of Priscilla Coleman and Henry Taylor, a seaman. He came from a large family (eleven children), of which he was next to youngest; in 1870 they were still living in Yarmouth, Massachusetts. By 1880 he had moved to Beverly, Massachusetts, where he worked as a clerk in a store.

Theodore married Sarah E. ____ in 1885, and they moved to Everett, Massachusetts some time before 1900, but by 1910 they had moved back to Beverly where he worked as a salesman for a grocery store. He was a member of the First Calvinistic Baptist Church in Beverly.

His labels are the only surviving evidence that he was a mineral collector. Interestingly, they are printed identically on both sides, a unique feature, the purpose of which is unknown.

U.S. Federal Census, 1910.
