J. David Dear

J. David Dear was a mineral collector living at 1829 West 73rd Avenue in Philadelphia. He is probably the David J. Dear listed on the 1930 census for Philadelphia: born in Pennsylvania around 1904, and living at that time on 13th Street with his wife Margaret and infant son David, Jr. He gave his occupation as "telephone switchman." This census record no doubt refers to the person listed in the Social Security Death Index as "J.D. Dear," born December 3, 1905 and died September 30, 1988 in Philadelphia. He subscribed to the Mineralogical Record until 1982.
