Werner, Robert W. (1937- )

Robert W. Werner was born in Oakland, California in 1937, the son of Herbert W. Werner (1901-1982) (q.v.), a geologist and proprietor of the Western Minerals business in Lafayette and Rialto, California from 1956-1972. Robert, who began mineral collecting in 1946, is a retired geologist and geological engineer currently living in Pioche, Nevada. He inherited is father's substantial mineral collection, and had added to it. The collection now numbers about 8,000 specimens, and is heavy in ore minerals. His earliest labels date from 1980 in Spokane, Washington.
